According to 90Min, Liverpool have asked to be kept informed on the situation of Sevilla striker Youssef En-Nesyri.

The Moroccan hitman was David Moyes’ top target to bolster West Ham United’s attack during the January window, but no deal was done.

West Ham failed with a bid of £22.5million rising to £27million according to the Daily Star, with Sevilla standing firm on their star striker.

They now want to give En-Nesyri a new contract in an attempt to fend off expected interest in his signature at the end of the season.

West Ham may well still be keen, but there are bigger fish now circling as Liverpool and Manchester United have asked to be kept up to date with En-Nesyri’s future.

The 23-year-old has smashed 13 goals in 22 La Liga games this season, whilst he has also hit four goals in seven Champions League outings in what has been a stunning season.

En-Nesyri is tall and more of a focal point than any other Liverpool striker, but he can also play wide and Jurgen Klopp may see him as ideal competition for Roberto Firmino.

Liverpool’s interest may kill off West Ham’s lingering hopes of a deal, but Sevilla will hope to block all interested clubs by securing a new deal with the striker.
