According to The Mirror, Arsenal want to keep Real Madrid-owned attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard beyond the end of the season.

Odegaard joined Arsenal on loan from Spanish and European giants Madrid in the January transfer window.

The Norway international attacking midfielder’s current contract at Los Blancos is due to run out in the summer of 2023, according to The Times.

The Mirror has claimed that Arsenal want to keep Odegaard at the club beyond the summer of 2021.

The report has added that the Gunners also want to keep hold of Daniel Ceballos, who is now in his second season on loan from Madrid.

Making an impact

Odegaard is starting to make an impact at Arsenal, and the influence of the 22-year-old is only going to grow in the coming weeks and months when he gets a run of games.

According to WhoScored, the Norway international has made two starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League and has played once in the Europa League for the Gunners so far this campaign.

While Odegaard would be a good signing for Arsenal for next season and beyond, Madrid might not want to let him go, as he is only 22 years of age and has a lot of potential.
