Everton chose to loan out Jarrad Branthwaite in January, sending him to Blackburn Rovers for first-team exposure.
Snapped up from Carlisle United for £1million in January 2020, Branthwaite made an impression in limited minutes towards the end of last season, but found this season tougher.
The signing of Ben Godfrey pushed him down the Everton pecking order, and an injury didn’t help before Carlo Ancelotti decided to send him on loan to Rovers.

The Daily Mail claim that Liverpool, Manchester City and Manchester United are all keen on Branthwaite, though Everton selling seems unlikely.
If they did sell the giant defender, they could surely expect to rake in a huge profit, and fans have been taking to Twitter to react to these shock rumours.
Some are suggesting there is no chance that Everton would sell to their local rivals, believing the rumour must be a wind up whilst laughing at the idea of Liverpool seeking reinforcements from Everton when Branthwaite can’t get in their side right now.
Others are just excited about the future, believing that Branthwaite will be a great partner for Ben Godfrey in the future, as long as Liverpool and other clubs stay away.
