Graeme Souness has told the Pitch to Post podcast that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah is the most selfish player he has ever seen.
While many Liverpool players have seen their form dip this season, Salah has continued to score with alarming regularity.
The Egyptian leads the Premier League scoring charts, with 17 goals to his name.
And Souness believes part of the reason for this is due to his selfish streak.
“Salah is a star, because of the consistency,” Souness said.
“He’s also the most selfish player I’ve ever seen. That isn’t problem for a striker. But I’m sure his teammates wouldn’t be happy with him on occasion. But he is a star.”
There have been times when Salah has visibly frustrated his Liverpool teammates on the pitch, when he has opted to shoot rather than pass to them.

However, his importance to the Reds’ team can never be doubted.
Salah is Liverpool’s main goalscorer and while the likes of Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino have struggled to hit the back of the net this term, he has continued to score prolifically.
Salah and Liverpool will next be in action tomorrow, when they take on Everton in the Merseyside derby.
