Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has suggested to Leeds Live that he will not drop Illan Meslier despite his mistakes this season.
Meslier is the first-choice goalkeeper at Leeds at the moment, with former Real Madrid custodian Kiko Casilla his back-up.
There have been occasions when the 20-year-old has made mistakes, like the one he made against Arsenal in the Premier League last weekend.
Backing Klopp: Liverpool’s summer problem
The Frenchman did come in for some criticism for his performance against the Gunners, who won the match 4-2.
Bielsa has defended Meslier and has reminded everyone that all goalkeepers make mistakes, suggesting that he is not going to drop him.

Bielsa told Leeds Live about Meslier: “There’s no goalkeeper that doesn’t make any mistakes. Goalkeepers consolidate themselves when they get over mistakes that they’ve made.
“It’s normal that the critics forget about what you’ve done in the past and fix themselves on the present.”
Sensible stance
Meslier is only 20 years of age, and the youngster will learn from the mistake he made against Bukayo Saka.
The Frenchman is still developing and progressing as a goalkeeper, and the aforementioned comments from Bielsa will encourage him.
Bielsa is clearly backing the youngster, who needs the confidence of his manager right now. Leeds have a very good goalkeeper in Meslier, and fans should continue to support him as the team aim to finish in the top half of the Premier League table this season.
