Liverpool’s Charlton Athletic loanee Liam Millar believes could hold his own in a sprint race with Bayern Munich superstar Alphonso Davies, as he told London News Online.
It is not often Kingsley Coman is playing catch-up.
Although the World Cup winner was happy to admit that even he cannot match the raw pace of a jet-heeled youngster who, with a top speed of over 22 miles per hour, is officially the fastest footballer ever recorded in the Bundesliga.
So, yeah, Alphonso Davies is quick.
But is he quicker than a 21-year-old winger currently making a huge impression on loan at Charlton from Premier League champions Liverpool?
Millar certainly believes he is capable of giving Davies a run for his money – quite literally.
“We’ve never raced. Every time we’ve tried to race the coach has tried to stop us,” Millar said of his fellow Canada international.

“I don’t know if they don’t want one to embarrass the other. Or me to embarrass him, most likely. Who knows?
“(Lille striker) Jonathan David is up there too for quickness. He might not look like he’s quick but us three in a foot race would be something to watch, for sure.”
With five goals and assists to his name in nine league games since moving to the Valley, Millar’s explosive acceleration is wreaking havoc on third-tier full-backs.
