Jamie Carragher has told the Sky Sports Super 6 podcast that he doesn’t feel Liverpool forward Divock Origi is anywhere near good enough for Jurgen Klopp’s side.
Carragher was discussing Liverpool’s need for a striker, as he doesn’t feel that the Reds have a natural centre-forward in their squad.
Origi, of course, has insisted that his best position is through the middle.
However, Klopp has opted to play the Belgian out wide on regular occasions.
And Carragher thinks that the reason Origi isn’t always selected to play down the middle is simply because he lacks quality.
“If you look at Liverpool’s attacking players they don’t have a striker. Jota is not a striker, same with Mane, same with Salah,” he said.
“They have Divock Origi but he’s nowhere near good enough. And he a lot of the time plays out wide, because he can’t play as a centre-forward.”

Origi has actually been favoured by Klopp over the likes of Takumi Minamino this term, but he has rarely threatened to break into Liverpool’s line-up on a regular basis.
Origi has badly struggled for goals, and already rumours are surfacing suggesting he could depart in the summer.
Origi has scored some important goals for Liverpool during his time at Anfield, but it does seem like it may be best for all parties if the £10 million man (BBC Sport) moves on at this point, as there are doubts over whether he truly possesses the class to provide effective back-up to the Reds’ current front three.
