One man who is enjoying a brilliant 2020/21 campaign is Hull City forward Mallik Wilks, who netted once again against Wigan on Wednesday.
In fact, to say ‘netted once again’ wouldn’t do him justice.
The 22-year-old completely stole the show with a stunning hat-trick against the Latics, dominating proceedings as the Tigers won 5-0.
Wilks even grabbed an assist in the 5-0 mauling, as WhoScored handed him a perfect 10 match rating for his efforts.
Why are we telling you this?
Well, the Leeds-born attacker used to play his football at Elland Road.

Wilks was actually developed in the Leeds academy, but only managed to make one first-team appearance for the Whites before joining Barnsley.
He then joined Hull, where he is absolutely thriving right now.
Following his hat-trick, Wilks has 15 goals in all competitions this season, including one against Leeds in the Carabao Cup.

After hearing about his hat-trick, one Leeds fans likened him to a ‘prime’ Jay-Jay Okocha, which is pretty lofty praise indeed.
It’s taken Wilks a few years to find his feet after leaving Yorkshire in 2019 – he scored just once in 16 games for Barnsley.
However, he looks to have finally settled in the Football League, and has found an environment in which he can evidently thrive.
