According to The Times, Celtic can’t make Jonjoe Kenny’s loan move from Everton permanent due to his wages.
It’s claimed that Kenny’s wages at Goodison Park will ultimately rule out a permanent deal, with Celtic unable to commit to that kind of money.
Spotrac claim that Kenny earns around £15,000-a-week at Everton, so it’s somewhat surprising that Celtic wouldn’t match that kind of cash.
Another factor though is the transfer fee needed to sign Kenny, as Everton allegedly demanded £10million from Burnley for him in January.
That would be a club-record fee for Celtic, and it doesn’t seem likely that they would spend that on a new right back.
Yes, the Bhoys need to make a big signing in that area after selling Jeremie Frimpong to Bayer Leverkusen, but splashing that much on a right back just seems hard to imagine.

Kenny, 23, has impressed in his early games for Celtic having signed on loan earlier this month, with fans certainly enjoying his performances.
They may have to savour Kenny whilst he’s still at Parkhead though, as the chances of him saying at Parkhead are allegedly slim.
