If Liverpool’s season ended tomorrow, you could probably argue Fabinho was their Player of the Year.

Yes, Mo Salah has scored most of the goals, but the Reds’ form has nosedived in a big way over the last few weeks since Fabinho has been absent.

And it makes you wonder how much worse Liverpool’s season would and could’ve been if he hadn’t done such a stellar job in the absence of Virgil van Dijk and Joe Gomez.

Remember, the former Monaco powerhouse is a midfielder, not a centre-back, and the fact that it isn’t easy to tell where his main position is sort of illustrates his importance.

These past few weeks have reminded everybody how vital he is to the Anfield outfit – but there could be good news coming.

Liverpool host Everton in a Merseyside derby this weekend and according to This is Anfield, nobody at the club is ruling out Fabinho being fit.

The big Brazilian is sidelined with a muscle injury and although he’d have to recuperate a lot over the coming days, there is some hope that he’ll be available to face the Toffees in what would be a massive boost.

Simply put, Jurgen Klopp’s side are a different team without Fabinho than they are with him and although a return against the Blues is still unlikely, it could potentially be huge.
