Jamie Carragher has suggested on CBS’s Champions League coverage (16/02/21 at 10:10 pm) that Liverpool-linked Kylian Mbappe should spend ‘four years’ in the Premier League.
The PSG superstar showcased to the world why he is one of the best in the land when he hit a stunning hat-trick against Barcelona in the Champions League at the Camp Nou on Tuesday night.
Liverpool’s name has been linked with the World Cup winner ( Le Parisien and ESPN), with the £165m hitman adamant that he could be successful at Anfield and suggestions that he wants to make that switch to Merseyside.
Another name that stands in Liverpool’s way is Real Madrid, but Carragher thinks, for Mbappe’s career path, it’s better he moves to the Premier League next.
“This guy Mbappe is going to have so many big games and big nights,” said Carragher. “I think this one will be remembered for a long time. I really do.
“Real Madrid and Barcelona will always be the ultimate for almost every player on the planet.
“But if you were mapping his career out as an agent. What is he, 21/22? Would you not almost think four years in the Premier League? 26, at your prime and then make that move to Madrid?
“Then you have got the French league. The Premier League and Madrid on your CV.”

PSG can have all the money in the world, but they won’t have a leg to stand on when they try to stop their rising star from going to either Anfield or the Bernabeu.
Liverpool’s current standing in world football helps – recent Premier League and Champions League winners – but the question has to be asked, do they have the money to add him to their squad?
Jurgen Klopp’s forward line needs refreshing, not in the sense of players being replaced, but an individual coming in and seriously challenging the front three.
Mbappe does that without any hesitation, so a move to the Premier League would no doubt enhance his career.
