According to CBS Sports, Liverpool’s board are looking through a list of potential midfield signings for the summer.
It’s claimed that Georginio Wijnaldum looks set to leave Liverpool this summer with his contract set to expire, and a replacement will be needed.
Liverpool’s board – the Fenway Sports Group alongside technical director Michael Edwards – are now working through a list of potential midfield additions for the summer window.
Lille star Renato Sanches is believed to be high on the list, having been linked with Liverpool in recent transfer windows.
Sanches, 23, was once tabbed as a star of the future having emerged with Benfica, and he made a huge move to Bayern Munich in 2016 having starred for Portugal at the European Championships.
He struggled with Bayern and then flopped on loan at Swansea in the 2017-18 season, but has rebuilt his career since joining Lille permanently in 2019.

Sanches has hit five goals and two assists in 47 outings for Lille, but it’s worth noting that he has suffered a couple of muscle injuries this season.
Jurgen Klopp may well be a fan of Sanches given that he is both technically and athletically gifted, and we could well see Liverpool launch a big move for him this year.
