According to Bild, RB Leipzig are still wanting a fee of around €50million (£44million) for midfielder Marcel Sabitzer this summer.
It’s claimed that Jose Mourinho still wants to bring Sabitzer to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, having been strongly linked with him in the last two transfer windows.
The Austrian is now approaching the final year of his contract with Leizpig, so Spurs may have been hoping for something of a discount.
Leipzig won’t want to see him leave for free in 2022, but they’re seemingly sticking to their price tag; they want £44million for Sabitzer regardless of his contract situation.
Leipzig do though think they have already signed Sabitzer’s heir, having completed the signing of Red Bull Salzburg playmaker Dominik Szoboszlai.
That may give Spurs some leverage in negotiations for the midfielder, but the price tag will surely be a huge issue for Daniel Levy this summer.

Sabitzer, 26, has racked up five goals and five assists for Leipzig this season, and his versatility has to be a major attraction for Spurs.
He can play as a holding midfielder, box-to-box midfielder, playmaker or even right-sided winger, whilst his energy and determination should fit in well with Mourinho.
Just how Spurs would fund a move remains to be seen, but they continue to be linked with Sabitzer ahead of a key summer surrounding his future.
