The Jackass 4 release date has been confirmed. When is the 2021 sequel out and who will be starring in the highly anticipated project?
When was it that you first fell in love with Jackass?
Many admirers of the daredevil collective will probably have memories of staying up late at a friend’s house, with everybody’s eyes glued to the screen as one of the crew attempts a stunt you wouldn’t dare think of, let alone attempt.
Whether Jackass is an unapologetic favourite or a guilty pleasure, it doesn’t matter. All that matters is the sheer entertainment of it. The absurd spectacle of a bunch of guys doing everything from slingshotting themselves in portaloos to recklessly running into the rodeo.
Beginning with Jackass: The Movie in 2002 – two years after their MTV debut – the cinematic output from the group has seen them become a pop culture phenomenon known across the globe.
Ever since 2010’s Jackass 3D, audiences have been eager for another outing. So, let’s address the Jackass 4 release date…
Jackass 4 release date: 2021 sequel confirmed
- Jackass 4 is scheduled for release on Friday, July 2nd 2021.
This is highlighted by The Independent, which acknowledges that the movie was originally set to premiere in March, but was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The fourth instalment will feature such familiar Jackass icons as Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Jason “Wee Man” Acuña, Preston Lacy, Chris Pontius, Ehren McGhehey, and Dave England.
Back in December 2020, Bam Margera posted a video to his website explaining that they were only two days into production. Nevertheless, he described that both Johnny Knoxville and Steve-o had already needed to be hospitalized.
This was related to injuries sustained during a stunt which apparently involved them trying to jump onto a moving treadmill while holding musical instruments.
While it was Bam that clued in fans, a recent update suggests that he may have been fired from the project.
Bam Margera on Jackass 4
As noted by The Independent, Bam recently told fans to boycott Jackass 4 after claiming he had been fired from the movie.
Speaking on Thursday, February 11th 2021, he said in an Instagram video: “I wrote them so many ideas, and if I’m not in the movie and they use my ideas, how do you think that will make me feel? The last thing I want to do is be in a courtroom with [Jackass 4 director] Jeff Tremaine, I love him.”
He included: “But f**k, man, I’m not in Jackass 4? If anybody cares about me, don’t go see their movie, because I will make mine way f***ing radder if you just Venmo me a dollar.” The video has since been deleted.
On the other hand, he posted a video a day later, captioned “A plan where everybody is happy in the end”. While this suggests he could potentially be involved in the project, his concrete involvement isn’t directly addressed.
