Speaking to The Blind Gooner YouTube Channel, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Arsenal are set to have a meeting about the futures of Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira in the coming months.
The midfield pairing have spent this season out on loan at Hertha Berlin and Atletico Madrid respectively, and understandably, there has been plenty of speculation about their futures at the Emirates beyond this season.
Romano was asked about Guendouzi, and he said that the Gunners will speak to Hertha Berlin about his situation, while also holding a meeting in the coming months about his and Torreira’s future.
“He will be back in the summer, they will discuss with Hertha Berlin about his future and if they will have other opportunities,” Romano said.
“We had rumours about a possibility about him leaving Hertha Berlin in January to come back to Arsenal, but it wasn’t true just because Hertha always said they wanted the player and to keep the player.
“Next summer it’s so similar to Torreira, because they want to decide next summer. They will have a meeting they always do this at Arsenal, and they will decide together about the future of players like Torriera and the same with Matteo Guendouzi and more, in the coming weeks we will know more.”

We would love to be a fly on the wall in that meeting.
Torreira and Guendouzi are both talented players, so Arsenal have a couple of tough decisions to make here.
Guendouzi has earnt a lot of praise during his time in Germany, and while things haven’t gone Torreira’s way in Spain, he’s still a quality player on his day.
We certainly don’t envy Edu and Mikel Arteta in having to make these decisions, but it will certainly be interesting to see how this one unfolds.
