Elina Svitolina had a heartfelt message for boyfriend Gael Monfils after his emotional exit from the Australian Open.
The Frenchman exited the men’s draw on Monday, losing in five sets to Emil Ruusuvuori.

And, after her straight sets win over Marie Bouzkova on Tuesday, Svitolina was keen to pass on a very public message to Monfils.
On a TV camera lens, she simply wrote “Gael” with a love heart.
Monfils would have been pleased to see Svitolina win
Svitolina’s victory was relatively straight forward, although it did take her over two hours to get the better of Bouzkova.
She now faces a mouthwatering clash against American 16-year-old Coco Gauff on Thursday.
The pair haven’t met in their careers yet, but that clash will almost certainly be on a show court.
The Ukrainian has never got past the quarter-finals in Melbourne, and was knocked out by runner-up Garbine Muguruza in the third round last year.
Monfils will definitely be hoping Svitolina can continue her run this year, and turn a negative Melbourne feeling into a positive one.
Elsewhere, in the afternoon session, there were wins for the likes of Rafael Nadal, Sofia Kenin, Garbine Muguruza, Daniil Medvedev and Andrey Rublev.
