Arsenal defensive midfielder Thomas Partey has raved about his new teammate Martin Odegaard on Stadium Astro.
Partey is looking forward to playing with Odegaard at Arsenal for the rest of the season.
The Ghana international played against the Norway international attacking midfielder when he was at Atletico Madrid.
The 27-year-old joined Arsenal from Atletico in the summer of 2020, while Odegaard moved to the Gunners on loan from Real Madrid in the January transfer window.
Partey said about Odegaard on Stadium Astro: “I remember when we played against him, he is so intelligent, he is always quick on the ball, he doesn’t give you the chance to take the ball from him, so it’s amazing to have him here. I hope he has a great season, and he is able to help us to achieve what we want to achieve.”
Big player for Arsenal?
Odegaard struggled to make an impact at Madrid in the first half of the season, but his quality on the ball and vision is undeniable.
The 22-year-old is still getting up to speed at Arsenal, and perhaps in the coming weeks, he will start to turn on the style.
Partey’s praise of the youngster shows that Arsenal could have a gem in their squad, and when the Norwegian gets going, he could help the Gunners finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
According to WhoScored, Odegaard has made two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Arsenal.
