Speculation is rife that Leeds United will make another attempt to sign Adama Traore from Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer.
Leeds were linked with the Spain international during the January window but Eurosport claim that the Elland Road side are ‘likely’ to make an offer during the off-season.
Thing is, Wolves reportedly want £35 million for Traore [Sport].
That would make him the Whites’ most expensive player in history and truthfully, he just isn’t worth it.
This is a player with a hell of a lot of clout – especially when Jurgen Klopp described him as a ‘big, big talent’ – but the truth is that he needs to do so much more.
Yes, he’s bullet-quick and built like Arnold Schwarzenegger, but he only has four goals and 10 assists for Wolves in his last 58 Premier League games.
Leaving aside that he’s a physical beast, Traore, as an attacking player, just isn’t productive enough to command a fee like that.
There’s no doubt that he’s unbelievably talented, but he’s also 25 and we can’t keep talking about how much potential he has.
It’s time for him to deliver and until he does, Leeds or anybody else should go nowhere near him if Wanderers are demanding that sort of fee.
