Gary Lineker and Glenn Hoddle shared their honest thoughts on Tottenham’s style of play under Jose Mourinho during the 1-0 defeat to Chelsea.
The north Londoners delivered another drab, lifeless display last night, in which they could only muster up two shots on target.
Mourinho’s men had seven shots in total, as WhoScored shows. However, Thomas Tuchel’s side registered 18 shots, and had five more corners.
It was a very alarming performance from Spurs, who have now lost three Premier League games in a row.
On Twitter, Lineker questioned why Mourinho makes Tottenham sit so deep, saying that such a style is just ‘asking for trouble’ to happen.
In Hoddle’s case, the ex-Tottenham boss was speaking on BT Sport while on commentary duty, when he shared his thoughts.

The ex-England manager said: “They’ve forgotten what to do when they get the ball.”
With players like Heung-min Son, Gareth Bale and Steven Bergwijn available to him – while Harry Kane is injured – Mourinho needs to be doing more for his side going forward.

Tottenham have too many good players, notably attackers, to park the bus every week and make them feed off scraps.
It will be very interesting to see if Mourinho bows to the pressure and adapts his tactics, or remains stubborn and wedded to his own beliefs.
