According to the Mirror, Manchester City are willing to pay £100 million to secure the signing of Erling Braut Håland from Borussia Dortmund.

The 7-cap Norway international has a release clause of £68 million which comes into effect from 2022.

However, the Citizens are prepared to pay £32 million more than that sum in order to blow the competition for Håland out of the water.

Chelsea are also said to be interested in the former RB Salzburg hitman, who has emerged as one of the best centre-forwards in Europe.

Borussia Dortmund’s No.9 has scored a remarkable 22 goals in just 21 appearances this season, while also grabbing five assists.

Pep Guardiola wants the Leeds-born hitman to replace Sergio Agüero, whose contract at the Etihad Stadium expires in June.

The Argentina international, as the Mirror state, is widely expected to return to his native Argentina when his deal runs out.

The Mirror also say that a move to Manchester City would see Håland’s wages skyrocket to £400,000-a-week.

Signing a 20-year-old for £100 million, plus £400,000-a-week, might seem crazy, and it admittedly is.

It’s a massive financial package, to say the least.

However, if there’s one player worth that amount right now, it’s the Norwegian, who looks set to dominate Europe for years to come.
