Netflix has kickstarted a very promising year of television and it hasn’t taken long for audiences to binge Firefly Lane.

The American drama series is created by Maggie Friedman and based on Kristin Hannah’s novel of the same name, with a cast featuring Katherine Heigl, Sarah Chalke, Ben Lawson, Beau Garrett and more.

It is currently ranked in Netflix’s Top 10 and hopes have already turned to renewal.

However, as news awaits, it’s worth looking behind the veil of Kate and Tully’s tale, getting to know the locations of the 2021 series.

Firefly Lane filming locations

Firefly Lane was filmed in a number of locations in British Columbia, Canada.

As highlighted by The Sun, the cast and crew began shooting in Burnaby, British Columbia in September 2019. They also filmed in Vancouver, a west coast seaport.

A number of notable movies have been shot in the city of Vancouver over the years, including Deadpool, Fifty Shades Darker, Man of Steel and Happy Gilmore.

On the other hand, some audiences may be familiar with Burnaby too, as it’s also where Netflix’s Virgin River was shot.

After four months, filming wrapped in January 2020, and since then, the cast has highlighted their favourite Firefly Lane Metro Vancouver filming locations while speaking with the Daily Hive.

These include CBC Studios (located in downtown Vancouver), Fort Langley, Lord Byng Secondary, West Vancouver’s Horseshoe Bay and Yaletown.

Firefly Lane: Where was it filmed?

Considering a range of other specific locations, The Cinemaholic includes that the Vancouver locations included The Ironworks Studio.

This is located at 235 Alexander Street and is where a number of art exhibitions and festivals are held.

Additionally, Brendan Taylor (who plays Mutt) posted a snap from 319 Main Street, Imperial Vancouver, where he was with Sarah Chalke (Kate Mularkey). Then there is also Nelson Street, Homer Street and the east side of 700 Hamilton Street.
