Celtic boss Neil Lennon has told The Scotsman that Ismaila Soro was left out of last night’s win over Kilmarnock due to fatigue.
The Bhoys were looking to bounce back following a dismal home defeat to St Mirren, and we did so in style.
Scott Brown opened the scoring in the first half, before Odsonne Edouard hit a brace, with Albian Ajeti adding a fourth.
A 4-0 win is exactly what Celtic needed after such a dreadful loss to St Mirren, though some wondered where Ismaila Soro was at Rugby Park.
Soro has been in superb form of late, producing committed and battling displays in the middle of the park just when Celtic needed them.
The Ivorian, signed from Bnei Yehuda in January 2020, took a while to get going at Celtic, but is now showing that he can be Scott Brown’s heir.
Lennon has now admitted that Soro has been ‘struggling’ with fatigue of late, so that’s why he was an unused substitute last night.
Lennon felt it was best that the 22-year-old was rested last night after playing so regularly recently, so we could see him back in the side very soon.
“Soro has been struggling with a bit of fatigue. He’s a young player and has played a lot of games recently, so we thought it best that we took him out and gave him a rest,” he added.
