Edwards backed away and instead went for Kabak, but Tapsoba is an exciting long-term target for the Reds if they don’t sign Kabak permanently.
The 22-year-old only joined Leverkusen from Vitoria Guimaraes last January, but has quickly become one of Europe’s top young centre backs, starring with his pace, ability on the ball and composed defending.
Liverpool fans have now been taking to Twitter to react to the rumours, branding Tapsoba ‘class’ and ‘absolutely incredible’.
Others hope that Edwards and Liverpool return with a new move for Tapsoba in the summer, feeling that the Reds ‘need’ him moving forward.
