According to The Times, Liverpool are keeping tabs on Aston Villa wonderkid Carney Chukwuemeka, who has been tipped for big things.

The Times add that Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Juventus have also been monitoring the 17-year-old’s progress.

Chukwuemeka was described as ‘probably the best 16-year-old in England’ by Aston Villa’s Chief Executive Christian Purslow last year.

After he turned 17, the attacking midfield prodigy signed a three-year contract with the Villans.

The teenager is so highly-rated that he has been training with the first-team under Dean Smith since last summer.

The Times add that there is little doubt at Villa Park that Chukwuemeka will go on to live up to the likes of Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham.

However, they face a real fight to ensure he fulfils his humungous potential while wearing claret and blue.

So, Liverpool fans – what type of player is he?

Well, despite being just 17, Chukwuemeka is already 6ft 1in, and boasts technical skills that The Times describe as outstanding.

It is also said that these incredible technical skills grabbed the attention of many staff members at Aston Villa years ago.

The Northampton-born starlet has scored two goals for Villa’s Under-18 side in 19 appearances, while also grabbing six assists.

Since being moved up into the Under-23 ranks, Chukwuemeka has recorded two assists in 16 outings.

By all accounts, he sounds like a real gem of a player, and one who any of the aforementioned sides who are interested would be lucky to have.
