Some Leeds United fans on social media are over the moon after an article in The Athletic linked them with a move for Romain Perraud.
The Whites are apparently in the market for a left-back this summer, and Phil Hay reports in The Athletic that Perraud is a player they’re particularly interested in, and as you can imagine, this update sent Leeds fans into a frenzy.
Leeds could certainly do with a left-back this summer. Now, that isn’t to say that Ezgjan Alioski and Stuart Dallas haven’t done a fine job this season, but neither of those two are left-backs by trade, with both preferring to play higher up before being transformed by Bielsa.
Perraud has just signed a new contract until 2025, so it’s going to be hard to pry him away from Brest, but the report states that Leeds are planning on tabling a formal bid this summer.
There’s every chance they could land him, especially when you consider the financial difficulties facing Ligue 1 clubs at the moment due to ongoing problems with their broadcast revenues.
Leeds have of course had a bit of recent success shopping in that market, landing Raphinha in the summer, a player who has since established himself as one of Leeds’ most important stars.
Here’s what the Elland Road faithful have been saying about their links to Perraud.
