Tottenham Hotspur have seen Harry Kane become a first-team star having emerged through their ranks – and will have similar hopes for other talents.

Oliver Skipp looks primed to become a first-team player, whilst there are now high hopes for Dane Scarlett after his goalscoring exploits this season.

However, some talents will ultimately have to leave for first-team chances elsewhere; Marcus Edwards is thriving with Vitoria de Guimaraes, whilst Noni Madueke now looks like being a huge miss.

The 18-year-old left the Tottenham ranks in the summer of 2018 having previously been with Crystal Palace, and made a bold move to PSV Eindhoven.

Madueke is now a first-team regular with PSV, displaying blistering pace on the right flank – and his statistics look hugely impressive.

Madueke has racked up eight goals and eight assists in 24 games this season, and looks set to become an England international one day.

The wide man has now told The Sunday Mirror (31/01, p63) that he is ‘so proud’ of his record with PSV, noting that he has impressed in big games when other English teenagers can’t get a kick of senior football.

Madueke believes his decision to leave Tottenham has been proven right, and Spurs may be left kicking themselves that he moved on having now excelled in the Netherlands.

“It is fantastic. I am so proud of my stats. I will be 19 in March and I have been playing so many games,” said Madueke. “Also, so many of my appearances have been at a high level, like European games and the big matches in the Dutch league. You only have to compare the games I have played to the games may England team-mates have played for their clubs.”

“I was right behind my decision to leave Tottenham at the time and to join a top side in Holland, and my stats are an even bigger confirmation of my good choice,” he added.
