Jose Mourinho has told Football London that Tottenham Hotspur’s Tanguy Ndombele is now one of his side’s best trainers.
Mourinho’s hard line style seems to have brought the very best out of Ndombele, as the Tottenham midfielder has gone from bit-part player to star performer this season.
Concerns were raised when Mourinho continuously omitted Ndombele from his starting line-ups last season.
However, the Portuguese boss’s plan seems to have worked – as Ndombele has developed hugely in the past year at Tottenham.
The Frenchman is now far fitter than when he first arrived, and also seems to be enjoying life in a Spurs shirt much more.
And Mourinho admits that he has been impressed with how hard Ndombele has worked in training to make his time at Tottenham a success.
“Was him, his responsibility. We always showed him the right way and demand a lot from him,” he said.

“If I did anything positive with him I believe it was not to play him when he was not in real conditions to play. I believe that we used some of matches last season to expose his fragilities at the time. His physical condition was not especially good as an example but always his responsibility.
“Trains very hard, plays very hard with the ball and without it, tactically he understands what the team needs from him. He’s feeling great and feeling very positive. It’s his responsibility.”
Ndombele sent out a reminder of his quality in Tottenham’s last game against Wycombe Wanderers in the FA Cup.
The 24-year-old came off the bench for Spurs to score twice and help set-up Harry Winks’s strike.
Ndombele will now surely start for Spurs this evening against Liverpool, and Jose Mourinho’s side will be looking to him to provide to creativity to unlock the Reds’ defence.
