Gary Lineker has praised Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold on Twitter for his performance against Tottenham Hotspur.
The former Tottenham striker is pleased to see the England international defender bounce back from his disappointing performances of late.
Liverpool got the better of Tottenham 3-1 away from home at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League this evening.
Alexander-Arnold scored the second goal for the defending Premier League champions and also provided a glorious cross for Sadio Mane in the 65th minute that the forward converted.
The 22-year-old has not been in great form in recent weeks, but the right-back was brilliant against Spurs.
Lineker was following the match, and he was impressed by Alexander-Arnold, and so was Tottenham legend Glenn Hoddle, who was on co-commentary duty for the match on BT Sport 1.
Hoddle said in the 66th minute of the match on BT Sport 1 (9:26pm, January 28, 2020): “Alexander-Arnold, what a pass! He certainly today he has got his passing back. There was a bit of criticism how he has been playing recently, but today even in the first half, he was hitting diagonals. That was a super super testing ball in behind.”
Back in form
Liverpool’s recent form has not been great, but the win against Tottenham was massive for the Reds in their quest to win the Premier League title for the second season in a row.
Jurgen Klopp’s side are now four points behind leaders Manchester City, although the Citizens have a game in hand.
