Sevilla have turned down a £33 million bid from a Premier League club for West Ham United target Youssef En-Nesyri, president Jose Castro has told Cope, as translated by Fichajes.

At this stage, it feels like the ship has sailed.

En-Nesyri confirmed at the weekend he had no plans to walk away from the Europa League winners just 12 months after arriving from Leganes.

And, speaking to ABC Sevilla 24 hours later, his agent admitted an offer from an unnamed English club – most likely West Ham – had been batted away.

Now, Sevilla’s long-serving president has had his say.

And while he was also reluctant to identify West Ham by name, the point was clear – En-Nesyri won’t be going anywhere in this transfer window.

“It is true several English teams have tried to sign En-Nesyri but we have no intention of selling the player right now,” Castro explains.

“And he has said he is delighted here.

“There was an offer of 33 million euros plus five in bonuses (totalling £33 million).”

En-Nesyri is joint-top scorer in La Liga, keeping pace with Atletico Madrid superstar Luis Suarez in the race for the Golden Boot.

Seven of those 12 goals have come in the last four games too, with En-Nesyri following up his hat-trick against Real Sociedad with another treble in Saturday’s 3-0 trouncing of Cadiz.

Sevilla completed the signing of former Atalanta talisman Papu Gomez on Tuesday.

The thought of En-Nesyri linking up with a man who broke the record for the most assists in a single Serie A season last term (16) will have La Liga defenders quaking in their botas.
