The Athletic’s Leeds correspondent Phil Hay has commented on speculation linking Marseille’s Jordan Amavi with a move to Elland Road.
The former Aston Villa man – who cost Marseille £9 million – is out of contract in June, so much has been made of his future this month.
L’Equipe revealed that Arsenal and Crystal Palace were keen on signing him in a cut-price deal.
However, Canal+ have been saying that the left-back wants to join Leeds.
When asked if Leeds are looking at signing the 26-year-old, Hay tweeted the following.
It appears that there are conflicting reports emerging here.

In our view, Hay is to be trusted more than Canal+, as The Athletic are usually extremely reliable.
However, this is certainly worth keeping an eye on as we approach the end of the January transfer window.
Why?

Well, Marseille either sell him this month and recoup a bit of cash, or they risk losing him for nothing in the summer.
With many clubs struggling financially as a result of the pandemic, perhaps the Ligue 1 outfit might be tempted to sell their No.18 this month.
In our view, Leeds could certainly do with him, as it would provide Ezgjan Alioski with some much needed competition.
