Reported Celtic, West Brom and Crystal Palace target Kasper Junker is accusing Bodo/Glimt of broken promises as his dream move away from the reigning Norwegian champions hits the buffers, while speaking to VG.

Given that the striker has made it clear on multiple occasions that he dreams of proving himself in a major European league, the assumption was that he would follow Philip Zinkernagel and Jens Petter Hauge out the door this month.

TEAMtalk reported that Celtic, West Brom and Crystal Palace were all interested in Junker, who fired Bodo/Glimt to glory with 27 goals in 28 games last term.

But, with just a few days left before the February 1 transfer deadline, it seems the former Denmark U21 international is no closer to seeing his dream become a reality.

And, as you’re about to find out, he is not exactly happy about it.

“The agreement was that I would come to Bodo/Glimt, show my potential, and then I would move on. (The club) said: ‘If you score 20 goals, we will sell you’. I scored 27 goals. It was because of that promise that I found Glimt interesting,” said an increasingly frustrated Junker.

“I was going to go, deliver, boom, then move on. It has been almost my whole motivation to do so well. Now I think: ‘Damn, how do I motivate myself for next season if it’s just empty words?’

“I feel I have the opportunity to fulfil a dream of testing myself in one of the world’s biggest leagues, but the club will not even negotiate. They do not keep their promises. It makes me both disappointed and frustrated.”

The late-blooming Junker will turn 27 in March and he obviously feels that, if a move to the Premier League, the Bundesliga or Serie A does not happen now, it will be something he lives to regret.

Crotone, bottom of the Italian top flight, appear to be the most likely destination as things stand with Brexit rules making a switch to Britain more difficult than ever (Bold).

“I do not have many years left at the top. I want to take the step to Crotone and then a new step. I cannot if I am not sold now. I’m at an age where it should be now,” he added.

“To me, 15 million kroner (£1.2 million) sounds like a lot. Glimt can quadruple the investment they made a year ago.”
