Stephen Warnock has hailed Leeds United duo Rodrigo and Raphinha on Match of the Day, which was broadcast by the BBC last night.
Raphinha scored Leeds’ first goal of the night as they beat Newcastle United 2-1 yesterday, in what was an important victory.
The Brazilian took aim from the edge of the box and finished well, as Leeds collected the three points.
And Warnock was very impressed by Raphinha’s contribution, but he also singled out Rodrigo for praise.
“You need that quality on the ball. What they’ve done is they have bought in Rodrigo and Raphinha – two quite brilliant players,” he said.
“What they do is, yes they get forward in numbers, but they also have quality and awareness of what’s going on around them.
“What you also have is strength in running and athleticism.”

Raphinha, in particular, looks to have been a wonderful addition to Leeds’ side.
The technically efficient attacking midfielder already looks to have adapted to life in the Premier League, and the Whites have surely picked up a bargain by bringing him in.
Rodrigo arguably hasn’t scored as prolifically as many hoped when he was brought to Elland Road, but the club’s record signing has still shown his class on the ball, and is becoming an integral part of Bielsa’s side.
Leeds’ win over Newcastle last night has lifted them up into 12th place in the Premier League table.
