Football London‘s Alasdair Gold has delivered an update on Tottenham’s interest in Paris Saint-Germain forward Ángel Di María.
Two days ago, L’Equipe revealed that Spurs are interested in signing the 104-cap Argentina international.
The French news outlet state that the former Real Madrid winger is currently struggling to agree a new deal at the Parc des Princes.
If L’Equipe are to be believed, then Tottenham are sniffing around the situation as Di María’s contract talks continue.
However, Gold – who’s usually pretty reliable when it comes to Spurs – has delivered an update.

The Football London correspondent wrote yesterday that the former Manchester United man is not somebody who has been discussed as a potential signing by Spurs.
Gold pours cold water over the emerging transfer news, to say the least.
In our view, it’s for the best that Jose Mourinho doesn’t sign Di María.

The Argentine turns 33 soon, and would surely command huge wages given his pedigree and the wealth of Paris Saint-Germain.
Additionally, Mourinho already has Heung-min Son, Steven Bergwijn, Lucas Moura and Jack Clarke to play on the wings.
In that respect, any funds that were going to go on Di María would probably be better spent finding a top centre-back, a position in greater need of bolstering.
