Celtic look set to say goodbye to one of their most promising players
Jeremie Frimpong looks to have played his final game for Celtic.
They claimed that Frimpong was open to a move and that the Serie A giants would pay the fee in instalments.
Manchester City, who Frimpong left to join Celtic in 2019, would be due 30% of any transfer due to a sell-on fee.
On Tuesday afternoon, Sky Sports tweeted confirmation from manager Neil Lennon that the player was currently abroad with a view to a transfer.
They quoted Lennon as saying: “We received a really robust offer for him. We are disappointed to lose him but that’s football.”
Radio Clyde Sports Editor Alison Conroy tweeted a quote from Lennon which read: “He made it clear to wanted to leave.”
According to Record Sport, Frimpong’s destination is the Bundesliga.
They claim that the Dutchman is currently in talks with Bayer Leverkusen.
Frimpong has made a total of 46 appearances for Celtic since leaving the Etihad.
The 20-year-old has scored three goals for the club.
