West Ham United are set to sign Jesse Lingard on loan from Manchester United, according to The Times.
It has been reported that United have sanctioned the departure of Lingard, and that West Ham are about to bring him to the London Stadium on loan until the end of the season.
West Bromwich Albion and Sheffield United are also keen on the 28-year-old, who can operate as an attacking midfielder or as a winger, but it is the Hammers who are set to win the race, according to the report.
Good signing for West Ham United?
West Ham manager David Moyes worked with Lingard at United, and one suspects that the Scotsman believes that the 28-year-old will add something extra to his team.
The Hammers are doing well at the moment, sitting seventh in the Premier League table with 32 points from 19 matches, just two points behind defending champions and fourth-placed Liverpool.
Lingard has a lot of experience in the Premier League, and being an attacking player, he could help create more chances and help in scoring goals, which would in turn see the Hammers push further up the table.
