Camp Cretaceous season 2 on Netflix

Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous returned to Netflix for season 2 on January 22nd, 2021.

The new batch of episodes continues the story of the group of teens who were left stranded on the dinosaur-infested island of Isla Nublar.

Following the dinosaur escape we see in 2015’s Jurassic World, the Cretaceous campers must look to find their own way off the island before they all become dino chow.

Who is Hap in Camp Cretaceous?

  • Hap is a mysterious tour guide who says very little when he’s introduced.

In episode 4 of Camp Cretaceous season 2, the gang spot bonfire smoke in the distance and make their way towards it, coming across three new characters on the way, ‘eco-tourists’ Mitch and Tiff as well as their mean and moody guide, Hap (Angus Sampson).

Brooklyn quickly grows suspicious of Hap as the guide says very little and is very protective of his yurt.

When Brooklyn and Kenji overhear Hap saying that he will “take care of these kids myself,” it sets the alarm bells ringing and he chases after Brooklyn and Kenji when they run off into the forest.

However, it’s revealed in episode 6, after the group has been reunited with Ben, that Hap is just a guide for Mitch and Tiff and meant it in the literal sense when he said ‘take care of the kids.’

He’s a little moody, yes, but the ‘eco-tourists’ actually turn out to be the antagonists in this situation as it’s revealed that they’re secretly big game hunters and have travelled to Isla Nublar to kill the dinosaurs for sport.

What happened to Hap?

  • Hap is killed in episode 6 as a sacrifice to protect the Camp Cretaceous crew.

Brooklyn, Kenji and Ben take Hap hostage in episode 6 but when they end up being chased by the Baryonyx trio known as Limbo, Chaos and Grim, Hap shows his true colours.

In order to save the teens and to help them escape, Hap distracts the three dinosaurs but is sadly killed off-screen.
