Jamie Redknapp raved about Aston Villa attacker Bertrand Traore on Sky Sports Premier League (10:08pm, January 23, 2021) following his performance against Newcastle United.
Traore scored the second goal for Villa, as Dean Smith’s side got the better of Newcastle 2-0 at Villa Park in the Premier League this past Saturday.
Former Tottenham Hotspur and Liverpool midfielder Redknapp was following the match for Sky Sports, and he spoke highly of the 25-year-old former Chelsea player, who can operate as a forward or as an attacking midfielder.
Redknapp said about Traore on Sky Sports Premier League (10:08pm, January 23, 2021): “He has got so much natural talent. He glides past people.”
The Englishman added: “He really is a lovely player to watch, he is a joy, brave as well.”
Important player for Aston Villa
Traore could not make a massive impact at Chelsea, but he did well during his time at Lyon and earned the move to Villa in the summer of 2020.
Sky Sports reported that Villa paid Lyon £17 million to secure the services of the forward, and he is proving worth the transfer fee.
According to WhoScored, the Burkina Faso international has made nine starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for Villa so far this season, scoring four goals and providing two assists in the process.
Villa are eighth in the Premier League table at the moment with 29 points from 17 matches.
