Euphoria on HBO
Season 1 of Euphoria arrived on HBO back in June 2019 and it was announced only a month later that season 2 had been confirmed.
After two Emmy wins in September 2020, Euphoria returned to our screens in December 2020, but not for season 2.
Instead, fans were treated to a pair of special episodes, focusing on the troubled relationship between Rue and Jules, acting as a bridge between the first and second seasons.
Season 2 release date
- The release date for Euphoria season 2 has not yet been announced.
Despite being renewed for season 2 in July 2019, the next full instalment of Euphoria looks set to be a while away yet courtesy of Covid-19-related production delays.

Euphoria creator offers update on season 2
Speaking to IndieWire’s Filmmaker Toolkit podcast, Euphoria creator Sam Levinson revealed that filming for season 2 is set to begin in late March 2021 and that “the goal is to release episodes this year .”
Filming on season 2 was originally scheduled to start shooting in March 2020 but the emerging Covid-19 pandemic put an end to those plans.
Instead, Euphoria’s creator teamed up with actress Zendaya once again for the upcoming Netflix film Malcolm & Marie, which was filmed entirely during the pandemic and resulting lockdowns.
