Jesse Lingard’s recent Manchester United struggles

According to WhoScored, Lingard has made one start and one substitute appearance in the EFL Cup and one appearance in the FA Cup for United so far this season.

During the 2019-20 campaign, the 28-year-old England international made nine starts and 13 substitute appearances in the league for the Red Devils, scoring one goal in the process, according to WhoScored.

Lingard also made four starts and five substitute appearances in the Europa League for United last season, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.

Joining West Bromwich Albion on loan

It is clear that Lingard is not going to get much playing time at United in the coming weeks and months, and a move to West Brom would make sense, both for him and for the Baggies.

The Englishman – described by United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as “a really good player” on Super Sunday Matchday on Sky Sports (17/01/20 at 11:25 am) –would get the chance to play regular Premier League football, and the Baggies would get a player who can help in creating chances and scoring goals.

West Brom are second from bottom in the Premier League table at the moment and have scored just 15 goals on 19 matches.
