According to The Sunday Mirror (24/01, p72), Tottenham Hotspur watched Norwich City’s Max Aarons in action this week.

Spurs transfer chief Steve Hitchen was spotted watching Norwich in action on Wednesday night, as they beat Bristol City 2-0 at Carrow Road.

Many were left wondering just who Hitchen was watching, and it’s now claimed that Aarons was the main man on the radar.

The report states that Spurs are mulling over a move for Aarons, and wanted to check on his progress ahead of a potential move.

Norwich value Aarons at £20million according to this report, leaving Spurs to consider another considerable outlay on a right back.

Current right back duo Serge Aurier and Matt Doherty cost more than £35million combined, but neither have really made the position their own.

Aarons is diminutive but quick and exciting going forward, and could be Tottenham’s right back of the future at just 21.

A January deal seems very unlikely, but Aarons remains a name to keep an eye on for Tottenham after long-standing rumours about a possible move.
