Some West Ham fans on social media aren’t best pleased with emerging reports linking them with a move for Bournemouth attacker Joshua King.

The London club are reportedly preparing a £16m bid for the attacker this month as they continue their quest to replace Sebastien Haller after selling the big Frenchman to Ajax.

£16m for a striker who once scored 16 Premier League goals in a season doesn’t seem like too bad of a deal on surface level, but when you consider the fact that he’d be available for a free in the summer, this deal starts to look a lot worse.

Of course, King has the ability and goal scoring prowess to be a real asset for West Ham, and with the Hammers still very much in the race for a European spot, they need someone through the door quite soon.

However, fans can’t quite get on board with the idea of spending such a high fee on a 29-year-old whose contract is up in the summer, and to be honest, we can understand why.

This is a transfer that doesn’t quite inspire the same level of excitement as a reported move for Youssef En-Nesyri.

It remains to be seen whether or not this is a deal that comes to fruition at West Ham, but if David Moyes’s side do complete this transfer, it’s bound to be one that divides opinion.

Here’s what the West Ham fanbase have been saying on social media…
