Arsenal announced the signing of Mathew Ryan on loan from Brighton and Hove Albion earlier today.

As stated on Arsenal’s official website, the goalkeeper will stay at the Emirates Stadium until the end of the season.

The 28-year-old Australia international has been signed to provide competition for Bernd Leno, who is the first-choice goalkeeper at the North London club.

Ryan has taken to Instagram to express his delight at his move to Arsenal on loan, and Tariq Lamptey has wished him the best of luck at the Emirates Stadium.

Lamptey, who can operate as a right wing-back or right-back, himself has been linked with a move to Arsenal.

According to The Athletic, Arsenal are among the clubs interested in the former Chelsea youngster.

The 20-year-old England Under-21 international recently signed a new contract with his club Brighton.

However, according to the report, Arsenal, Everton and Manchester City are ‘unlikely’ to be put off by the new contract, although it is clear that a transfer could happen only in the summer of 2021 and thereafter.

The youngster has scored one goal and provided one assist in 11 Premier League games for the Seagulls so far this season, according to WhoScored.

Lamptey responded: “Good luck bro 💪🏾”

Former Australia international star Tim Cahill wrote: “Enjoy my man.”
