Mira Furlan, who is known for her role on the ABC drama series Lost, has sadly passed away at the age of 65 – but who is Mira’s husband?
Emotional tributes have flooded on social media after Mira Furlan’s death was confirmed on social media on Thursday (January 21st).
The Croatian actress and singer was a well-loved personality who has starred in multiple award-winning films.
Mira is survived by her husband Goran Gajić, 59, and their son, Marko Lav, who is 22 years old.
Who was Mira Furlan?
Mira Furlan, who was born in Zagreb in 1955, has died at the age of 65 on January 20th, her official Twitter account has announced.
The poignant tribute includes a quote by the actress which says:
“I look at the stars. It’s a clear night and the Milky Way seems so near. That’s where I’ll be going soon…. I am not afraid. Let me close my eyes and sense the beauty around me. And take that breath under the dark sky full of stars. Breathe in. Breathe out. That’s all.”
From 2004 to 2010, Mira portrayed the recurring role of Danielle Rousseau in the ABC drama series Lost.
She starred as Minbari Ambassador Delenn in all five seasons of the science fiction series Babylon 5.
Mira also appeared in the award-winning movies When Father Was Away on Business, The Beauty of Vice and The Abandoned.
Who is Mira Furlan’s husband?
Mira Furlan’s husband is Goran Gajić, a film, television and theater director who was born in Zagreb.
He directed an episode of Babylon 5 called ‘And All My Dreams, Torn Asunder’, which was episode 16 from the fifth season and featured Mira.
In 1995, Goran directed an award-winning adaptation of Antigone. The play was performed at Hudson Guild Theatre in Los Angeles.
Goran and Mira emigrated to the US in 1991 and got married in 1998. They have one son together, Marko Lav Gajić.

The creator of Babylon 5, J. Michael Straczynski, wrote:
“It is a night of great sadness, for our friend and comrade had gone down the road where we cannot reach her. But as with all things, we will catch up with her in time, and I believe she will have many stories to tell us, and many new roles to share with the universe.”
Jorge Garcia, who starred as Hugo “Hurley” Reyes on Lost, also shared a heartbreaking post and wrote: “Sorry to hear of the passing of @mirafurlan_ she was always such a pro and a joy to work with. Rest In Peace.”
