After full-time, Lineker shared his verdict on the incredible result, and delivered the aforementioned eye-catching statistic.

Now, the fact that Mané only suffered his first defeat at Anfield last night is absolutely unbelievable.
The 71-cap Senegal international joined the Reds on June 28th 2016 from Southampton, in a deal worth £34 million.

Incredibly, we are only five months and six days away from the five-year anniversary of his arrival.
In that respect, the fact it’s taken him roughly four-and-a-half years to taste defeat at Anfield is a truly bizarre piece of information to digest.
Liverpool fans may be upset after last night.
However, statistics like the one highlighted by Lineker just goes to show how good they’ve had it under Klopp in recent years.
It’s disappointing to lose, of course. Having said that, Liverpool fans should still be proud that such an unbeaten run even took place.
It’s certainly something to be proud of, and few Premier League teams will be able to replicate it, in our view.
