Kodak Black is one of the celebrities to be pardoned by Trump. He has been granted a commutation after being charged in 2019.

Why is Kodak Black in prison?
Kodak Black received a 46-month sentence after he was arrested for falsifying information on federal documents to buy guns in November 2019.
The rapper, whose real name is Bill Kapri, is in prison after pleading guilty to a firearms possession charge in March 2019 after being arrested near Niagara Falls, New York, at the US-Canada border. This sentence is being served concurrently with his previous one.
He also has a pending case relating to 2016 sexual assault charges, CNN has further reported.
Kodak Black has been pardoned by Donald Trump
Donald Trump issued a pardon to Kodak Black on Wednesday (January 20th), The White House has announced.
Bradford Cohen, the attorney for Kodak Black, has confirmed to Rolling Stone that the rapper has been granted clemency by Trump, explaining:
“President Trump and his administration have been tireless advocates on behalf of the African-American community. These pardons are a perfect example of this administration following up on its reforms and commitments.”
Meanwhile, a statement by The White House says: “Before his conviction and after reaching success as a recording artist, Kodak Black became deeply involved in numerous philanthropic efforts.”
What was Kodak Black’s original sentence?
Kodak Black was originally sentenced to 46 months. Before Trump issued a commutation to the rapper, he was due to serve his sentence until November 2022.
