Donald Trump is expected to pardon Lil Wayne as one of his final orders, and fans are wondering if he was on The Apprentice.

Between 50 to 100 pardons are expected to be issued by Donald Trump on Tuesday, January 19th or Wednesday morning, January 20th, according to Fox News. The president has until midday on Wednesday to issue any pardons.

Fox News has learned from a source that among the pardoned individuals is Lil Wayne, who pleaded guilty to illegally possessing a handgun while travelling to Florida on a private jet in 2019. The contents of his bag is also reported to include small amounts of various drugs.

But, why is Trump pardoning Lil Wayne? Let’s take a look at their history together.

Was Lil Wayne on The Apprentice?

Although many fans and even some media outlets have mistakenly claimed that Lil Wayne was on The Apprentice, the rapper has never taken part in the show.

However, it’s though that he is a fan of it and reportedly wrote in his book Gone Til November that he would watch The Celebrity Apprentice, which Donald Trump judged on, while in prison years ago.

In a 2016 interview with The New York Times, when pressed on his views on Trump and asked about excerpts of the book that recount watching the show, he simply laughed and asked: “Who’s that?”

His part in Trump 2020

Although Lil Wayne may not have acknowledged Donald Trump previously, and wasn’t on The Apprentice, he was active in Trump’s 2020 campaign.

In October of 2020, the rapper set social media alight after posting an image of himself with the president, applauding his future plans for the black community.

However, actual Celebrity Apprentice contestant Lil Jon felt differently. When asked if he would be joining the likes of Lil Wayne and Lil Pump in supporting the president, he responded: “F*** no”.
