Speaking on the Que Golazo Podcast, Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Liverpool have sent scouts to watch Rodrigo De Paul.

The Argentine midfielder has been linked with a move to Liverpool this month, and while Romano claims that a January move to Anfield isn’t on the cards for the Udinese star, he says that Liverpool have shown an interest.

It seems as though a summer move is more likely, but that is bound to be complicated as Romano says Mino Raiola is looking to take De Paul on as a client, which as we all know by now, makes thing a little trickier.

“In this moment Liverpool are not moving to sign De Paul in January, so we can say this is absolutely something that is completely not real,” Romano said of Liverpool’s reported January interest.

“Next summer we will see because here in Italy we have rumours about Mino Raiola approaching Rodrigo De Paul as possibly his new player, so he is trying to get De Paul as his new player, and when there is Mino Raiola in the air, something big can happen.

Romano then went on to speak about Inter Milan’s interest in the Argentine, as well as Leeds’ bid for him last summer.

Romano then went on to speak further about Liverpool’s interest, claiming that Liverpool have sent scouts to look at him.

“At the moment for Liverpool there is nothing, they sent their scouts to scout Rodrigo De Paul because we are talking about a good player, also a talented midfielder who always scores here in Serie A, but at the moment he is not a target for January.”

A summer move for De Paul would be very interesting for Liverpool.

The Reds will certainly need a midfielder after reports emerged claiming Georginio Wijnaldum is on his way this summer, and De Paul could be the man they need.

Leeds and Inter are also reportedly interested, but one would have to imagine that Liverpool have more pulling power than either of those sides at the moment.

This may be a story we will be revisiting in a few month’s time.
