Arsenal will not be put off making a move for Tariq Lamptey, despite the youngster signing a new Brighton & Hove Albion contract, the Athletic claim.
Lamptey has caught the eye of Arsenal scouts this season, with his energetic performances down the right-hand side for Brighton.
The Seagulls have moved quickly to tie down the youngster to a new deal, as reward for his good form.

The long-term contract was expected to calm rumours over Lamptey’s departure initially, but the Athletic say that this won’t be the case.

Indeed Brighton’s asking price, which was said to be £23 million (Sport1), for the full-back has apparently barely been raised by him signing a new deal, which means that Arsenal remain interested.
Lamptey would offer the Gunners far more thrust down the right if he was to sign, with Mikel Arteta said to be a huge fan in The Sun.
Hector Bellerin currently operates as Arsenal’s first choice right-back, but there is a feeling that Lamptey could be an upgrade over the long-term.
And although any transfer is unlikely to happen in the immediate future, it seems that a move to the Emirates Stadium could still take place.
