The drama at Celtic Park shows no sign of abating, and it’s safe to say Rangers fans are revelling in it.

With 2021 less than three weeks old, the Scottish champions have lost a derby at Ibrox, been pictured drinking by the pool just hours after that defeat, received a barrage of criticism over their decision to make a non-essential journey to Dubai at the height of a pandemic, seen 13 players, a manager and an assistant manager forced to self-isolate after a player tested positive for Covid-19 and issued a poorly-received apology in an interview given to the club’s in-house TV channel by their executive.

To that list they can now add what will surely come to be considered the most memorable Scottish football press conference since that time Mark McGhee told reporters he wasn’t interested in the Celtic job despite Celtic having no interest in offering him the Celtic job.

In the wake of news that another Celtic player had tested positive for Covid-19, Lennon said: “Everybody’s negative. The whole squad’s negative bar two players. I think that’s remarkable.

“And I think it totally blows out the water the way the trip, the way the training camp has been portrayed, by certain quarters of the media, by certain pundits, and by certain Government officials as well.

“We did the right things. We were absolutely totally professional. We had a little drink in the afternoon on the day off.

“Completely allowed, no law-breaking, yet we come back to this barrage of absolute hypocrisy.”

Naturally, the Rangers fans below have lapped up today’s incredible scenes.
