Justin Timberlake has revealed he has a second child, but what’s the baby’s name? Read on to find out the name and its origins.
On Sunday, January 17th, Ellen DeGeneres posted a clip from her upcoming show on January 18th, which Justin Timberlake is a guest on.
In the clip, the singer officially announces the birth of his second child for the first time, and even reveals his name too.
Neither Justin Timberlake or Jessica Biel had revealed they were expecting, or that their son had been born. Ellen approached the topic by revealing that she was one of the first people to find out.
However, the birth hasn’t been a complete secret and NSYNC bandmate Lance Bass revealed in a September interview that he had been sent many photos of the new born.
It’s reported that their new son was born in July of 2020.
What is Justin Timberlake’s new baby name?
Other than just revealing the birth itself, Justin also announced the name of their son after Ellen DeGeneres jokingly asked him to share “vaguely his name and vaguely how old he is”.
“Yeah, i’ll tell you his name. His name is Phineas. He’s awesome and he’s so cute and nobody’s sleeping,” he responded.
So, Justin Timberlake’s baby’s name is Phineas. But, it seems the parents also shorten the name to Phin, with Justin calling him exactly that when explaining how older brother Silas has adapted to his bog brother role.
“Right now, he’s very much liking it. Phin can’t walk yet or chase him down, so I don’t know. We’ll see what happens.”
What is the meaning of ‘Phineas’?
Phineas is of Hebrew origin, according to Baby Centre, and is the English variation of Phinehas, a Hebrew name that derives from the Egyptian name Pa-nehasi. The Hebrew Phinehas is the name of two biblical characters.
Julia Roberts also named her son Phineas in 2004, but went with the older spelling of Phinnaeus.
